Facility Controller/Office Manager
Troup, Texas Facility

Color Spot Nurseries is currently searching for an Facility Controller/Office Manager at our Troup, Texas facility . This position will work directly with the General Manager as well as all department managers.                      

This position reports directly to the General Manager and has dotted line responsibility to the Operational Controller on financial matters, and to the Director of HR on Human Resources matters. This position is also responsible for the Site’s Accounting process’ including the financial closing and reporting, weekly reports, processing of payroll, costing and inventory accounting and human resources. Co-responsibility for the accuracy of inputs to MRP which affect costing and inventory accounting. Responsible for Site Internal Controls.

This individual will work closely with the General Manager on the planning, scheduling, and budgeting process for the site. Develop weekly, monthly and quarterly reports pertaining to each for management review.


Requirements:

Verifies the inputs (payroll, raw material purchases, raw material inventory, raw material usage, Finished good inventory unit activity, distribution expenses, and other expenses) to the daily “p & l “and compiles them into the weekly flash report. 

Input updates for the thirteen week rolling forecasted activity (production, distribution, selling, and administrative) and update the “Flash Report” for any material changes.

Provide the Facility Management Team with the following financial data:

·        Month end and year to date income statement.

·        Weekly, monthly, and yearly cost per flat data.

·        Month end and year to date cost center reports for the related cost center managers.

·        Weekly and Monthly Compilation of the Flash Report

·        Monthly Inventory Reports

Provide assistance to the production department during physical inventories, including:

·        Administers physical count of finished goods and raw materials. Do all paperwork and follow up on variances.

·        Assist with test counts or audits

·        Print and distribute inventory count reports, variances,

Planning –

·        Provide financial data to the General Manager and Facility’s Management team for the preparation of the annual operating plan.

·        Administer the Plan file

o       Keep a hard copy of the Final Operating Plan

o       Supportive schedules provided by the respective managers that justify their numbers and their assumptions.

o       An analytical review of the plan.

·        Provide The General Manager and Operations Controller with an analytical review of the Plan.

Reconcile the GR/IR account for the Facility monthly.

Responsible for the accuracy and receipt of all raw materials into the system.

Makes recommendations to General Manager and Operations Controller on operational and financial controls and develops procedures to improve existing systems.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
  • Minimum two years related experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of software applications (Excel, MS Word, Power Point, Access, etc
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Excellent listening, interpretation, and reasoning skills necessary.
  • Must be an independent thinker and innovative problem-solver.
  • Ability to foster strong relationships with team members and external clients
  • Maintain confidentiality of privileged and sensitive information
  • Self starter, able to learn new functions quickly and accurately

EDUCATION

BS degree in Accounting or related area required.
